Every return, from the first document to the filed return, in one calm place — built from the ground up for the way tax professionals actually work.
Built for tax pros, by an Enrolled Agent.
Most tax practice software is one of two things: legacy desktop tax software — overloaded with forms but with no practice around them — or a generic professional dashboard that does too little of what a tax practice needs, and too much of what it doesn't.
The Synergy Tax Platform — SynergyTP — was built from the ground up by a working Enrolled Agent — around the deadlines, the documents, and the trust that a tax practice actually runs on.
Everything I tried was one of two things: legacy tax software — built to fill out forms, not run a practice — or a generic professional dashboard that couldn't do half of what my practice needed, and did a dozen things it didn't.
And my biggest concern was never the feature list. It was: how easy is this for my clients? People handing over their financial lives are already carrying enough.
So I built a platform around the actual workflow of a tax practice, with the client experience at the center. My clients see a simple portal — dashboard, messages, action items, organizers, documents. Checking on a return, sending a message, filling out an organizer, uploading a document: it all happens right there. That's it. That's the point.
Client card opens, organizers and documents requested, app setup sent with one click, tax year assigned.
Documents are reviewed and the return is drafted for the practitioner's review.
Practitioner approves, forms auto-fill, client signs and pays, return is filed.
Deadlines, resolution matters, and next season's intake tracked automatically — plus a review request after service.
People handing over their financial lives are already carrying enough — the software shouldn't add to it. The client interface is deliberately simple: no training, no manual, no "where do I click?"
Contact info, current return, and next steps at a glance.
Message your tax professional directly — call, email, or text from the same screen.
What needs your attention, tracked to done.
Fill out your tax organizer right in the portal.
Upload what's requested, see what's already in.
Installs right to your phone's home screen like an app — no app store needed.
Engagement letters and IRS forms routed for signature — no separate portal.
Collect payment in the platform; it's logged to the client record.
Call or text a client from their card. The thread stays with the file.
Client files live in your Microsoft/SharePoint environment — not a third-party vault.
Tracks continuing education deadlines and license credentials, federal and state.
Internal messaging and coordination between staff, inside the same platform.
Federal forms, POA templates, and other documents ready to use.
One button right in the client card's text panel sends the app setup instructions — no app store, no download, guided for their device.
Our philosophy is simple: AI is a helpmate to the human — never the other way around. Every return is reviewed and approved by a human practitioner. AI never has the final word. Verity is still going through testing before general release. Ezra and Abbicus — the tools that would actually handle tax-prep input — are being held back deliberately until the industry has settled on responsible AI use in tax preparation.
The practice's research librarian — surfaces guidance, citations, and precedent on demand, and drafts client letters.
Gathers client data and prepares tax summaries, following the practitioner's instructions.
Takes Ezra's summary and prepares the return — for the practitioner to review and approve.
Verity: still being tested, on track for release. Ezra & Abbicus: intentionally paused pending industry standards. Clients never see the AI team. They just see a remarkably well-prepared practitioner.
Client data is fully separated, never a shared pool. Access is controlled by organization membership.
Administrators manage the platform. Preparers see only their assigned clients. Clients see only their own file.
Modern authentication, two-step portal verification, and permission checks throughout — not just at the front door.
Access-controlled storage, secure signing workflows, and auditability of every important action.
AI assists; the practitioner decides. Sensitive client data is withheld from AI tools by design.
Storage in the Microsoft security ecosystem, vetted signing and payment providers, clear boundaries throughout.
SOC 2 certification is on our roadmap. We're in the process of engaging the right auditors to begin that process.
